Honeymoon in Hawaii

Ronnie and I went to Maui for our honeymoon and stayed at the Andaz Maui at Wailea. We booked the Partial View Suite which was very spacious and had amazing views of the Ocean.

Below are a list of our excursions / activities and all the restaurants we went to!

Excursions / Activities

  • Sunrise Deluxe Snorkel with Kai Kanani

    • This was truly a highlight of the trip. The morning was early - we had to be ready for a 5am pick-up from the hotel - but it was worth it! They served a great breakfast with cinnamon rolls, parfaits and frittatas, bloody mary’s and mimosas. We snorkeled during sunset, saw some amazing fish and a very rare seal before moving to our second location where we swam with turtles! Seriously incredible experience. HIGHLY recommend

  • Royal Sunset Sail with Ali’i Nui

    • This was a 2.5 hour, adults only sunset sail on a 65’ catamaran. I feel like the moment we left the marina, they were pointing out whales all around us! The sail included cocktails and an amazing dinner with ahi tuna, crab cakes and so many more indulgent foods - the dinner (and honestly the entire experience) was much better than I expected!

  • North Shore Excursion with Maui Pacific Tours (Road to Hana)

    • Ronnie and I went back and forth on checking out the Road to Hana while in Maui. We decided to do an excursion where we would see some of it, but not spend the entire day - I get really car sick so was worried about spending the day on winding roads. It was nice to have a private tour in a luxury SUV, but the weather wasn’t great so we didn’t get to hike much. The road is beautiful, especially if you haven’t spent a lot of time in the rainforest or hiking waterfalls previously. To be honest, if you want that experience though, I would checkout Belize or Costa Rica instead. We did also visit Pa’ia Town on this tour, which is a charming town filled with boutiques. I would definitely spend more time exploring these shops the next time I visit Maui!

  • The Feast at Mokapu (Luau)

    • We knew we had to do a Luau while in Maui and we went with the one our hotel hosted. Set on the grassy lawn next to Mokapu beach, this luau had great reviews and they definitely lived up to them. From lei making, hula dancing, fire dancing and a great band, we were constantly entertained. The food was also served family style (unlike other luau’s which are buffet) and we had servers coming around to refill our drinks the second they were empty! They also educated us on Hawaii’s culture and history, a huge plus for Ronnie!

  • Couples Massage at Awili Spa

    • I am sure you have all learned my obsession with massages and spas by now, so obviously wasn’t going to skip this on our honeymoon! Ronnie and I did the 90 minute Connect couples massage followed by a 30 minute Bath Soak Ritual. The Spa rooms at the Andaz overlook the ocean too - can’t beat that!

Restaurants

  • Spago at the Four Seasons

    • Definitely the best meal we had during our honeymoon. Highly recommend the Spicy Ahi Tuna “poke” in Sesame-Miso Cones, the Ginger-Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi and for any meat eaters, you can’t skip the Wagyu

  • Morimoto at Andaz

    • Another great meal. We decided to do the 7-course Omakase since they were willing to accommodate my pescatarian diet. I love being surprised by each course and knowing that it’s the best of the best!

  • Monkey Pod

    • A more casual restaurant in Wailea, this was recommended to us more than any other restaurant before we went to Maui. It would be great to go with a group as it definitely had more of a bar vibe. The food was all locally sourced (loved that) and the fish tacos were great. The atmosphere just wasn’t really for me and Ronnie so we probably wouldn’t return.

Hope you get to checkout some of these excursions and restaurants if you get the chance to visit this beautiful island!
